The Saiva Siddhanta School is one of the most ancient schools of Saivism. It has a history of more than 2000 years. Its roots can be traced back to both Kashmir and southern India. It gained popularity in the south and established itself as a dominant sect of Saivism. In the past it had sizeable following in other parts of the Indian subcontinent. But currently it is popular mostly in the south.

Mother gives the first birth to a child. We come into the world through the mother. But second birth is through the Guru. The master delivers you the knowledge and skill.

We all play the role of teacher, guide, guru, but when the spiritual knowledge is so total, that one is called Sathguru. An Acharya (teacher) gives knowledge and Guru gives height of awareness and makes you alive. Acharya gives information; Guru gives intelligence, an awakened intelligence.

Prāṇāyāma (Sanskrit: प्राणायाम prāṇāyāma) is a Sanskrit  word alternatively translated as “extension of the prāṇa (breath or life force)” or “breath control.” The word is composed from two Sanskrit words: prana  meaning life force (noted particularly as the breath), and either yama (to restrain or control the prana, implying a set of breathing techniques where the breath is intentionally altered in order to produce specific results) or the negative form ayāma, meaning to extend or draw out (as in extension of the life force). It is a yogic discipline with origins in ancient India.

Vasudeva Param: Gyanam Vasudeva Param Thapa:
Vasudeva Paro Dharmo Vasudeva Paraa Ghathi.

Knowledge’s final Destination is always Sriman Vasudevan. Vedas too proclaim this as destination. Our actions, Deeds, Yoga, Meditation, and Knowledge all should converge to THE LORD’s feet as form of Surrender. We should take steps for that only. Though there are many ways to attain LORD’s Feet, the love socked with Bhakti is the only bridging path between the LORD and us.

The rishis who revealed the principles of dharma or divine law in Hindu scripture knew full well the potential for human suffering and the path which could avert it. To them a one spiritual power flowed in and through all things in this universe, animate and inanimate, conferring existence by its presence. To them life was a coherent process leading all souls without exception to enlightenment, and no violence could be carried to the higher reaches of that ascent.
